Adult Beginners Puppetry Course at The Little Angel Theatre

This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in learning basic puppetry skills. Designed for absolute beginners, it is open to all those who have always wanted to have a go at puppetry but never had the opportunity to do so. Working with a professional puppeteer, you will explore a variety of different puppet forms and learn the basics of puppet manipulation. This term also features guest tutors who will give a beginners guide to their specialist puppetry skills. There will also be a simple puppet making opportunity.

Designed for people who have attended the beginners' club or who have a strong desire to explore puppet making in more detail. Participants make a glove or table-top puppet in a human form using fabric and sewing techniques.

Adult Puppet Performers Course: Shadow and Object Animation at The Little Angel Theatre

This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in developing puppetry performance skills. Designed for people who have attended Beginners Club or have some performing experience and a strong desire to explore performing with puppets. This term participants will learn the art of performing using shadow and object animation. Lead by Oliver Smart from innovative object theatre company Folded Feather (www.foldedfeather.com). We are also extremely excited to announce that the term also includes sessions run by The Paper Cinema (www.thepapercinema.com) who will be teaching their unique performance techniques including “the accidental meeting of inkblots, photocopies, cardboard, angle-poise lamps, the occasional table, video technology, a laptop and a banana box.” As well as shadow specialist Steve Tiplady from Indefinite Articles leading a session and sharing some of his amazing shadow techniques.
