About Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art
Collection of paintings and sculpture by 20thC Italian artists, with a core of Futurist works by Balla, Boccioni, Carra, Russolo and Severini. The collection also includes figurative art and sculpture created between 1890 and 1950 by artists such as Modigliani, Marino Marini, Giorgio Morandi and Giorgio de Chirico. The Collection is housed in a Georgian villa and also hosts temporary exhibitions, educational events and runs an art library. Alfresco lunches in garden cafe in summer and well stocked gallery shop.

Alberto Burri: Form and Matter at Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art

Alberto Burri (1915-1995) is acknowledged to be one of the greatest exponents of twentieth- century European art for his radical and highly personal reinvention of artistic language. This exhibition will trace the artist's creative development between 1947 and 1987, ranging from rare, early, figurative works to the later pieces created with sacking, metal, plastic, wood, cellotex and ceramic for which he is undoubtedly best known.
