The small but entertaining exhibition explores the illustrious history of the RI, and uses animations and comedy to explain some of the groundbreaking concepts and equipment on show.

Budding scientists will love wandering around the Royal Institution, the world's oldest independent research body. Founded over 200 years ago, the centre has been home to 14 Nobel Prize winners and has been responsible for many important discoveries. Today it houses a museum, a restaurant and a special events space, which holds regular lectures and public events. There are also monthly family fun days, when exciting hands-on activities and demonstrations are guaranteed to captivate the kids.

This talk will examine the topic of biodiversity, the variation of life on Earth. Each nook and cranny of our world contains living things, from tiny bacteria to huge sea mammals, and this talk will take a unique view of the richness of life here on earth.

     
  • Major 20th Century Collections

    The Major 20th Century Collections displays at The Royal Institution's Faraday Museum. The exhibits are collected papers of four most famous scientists including the first Director of the Davy Faraday Research Laboratory and the first Director of the Royal Institution. The collection includes Laboratory and experimental notebooks, pocket diaries, draft autobiography etc.

    The Royal Institution's Faraday Museum displays Minor 19th Century Collections. Museum presents several minor collections of the papers of people who have been associated with the Royal Institution in some way. The 19th century collections include scrapbooks containing letters, newspaper cuttings, biographical notes, autographs, reports and photographs.

    The Royal Institution's Faraday Museum presents Minor 20th Century Collections. This collection include several minor collections of papers of people who have been associated with the Royal Institution in some way; such as laboratory notebooks, selected journals relating to psychical research, biographical information on Sir William Crookes such as draft biography by E E Fournier D'Albe and photographs.
