We arrived at Passfield Hall after a 10 minutes walk from St. Pancras Station (we arrived in the UK through the Eurostar). The staff at the office was nice and friendly; they gave us all the info we needed to know and answered all our questions.

Next came what we found the must amusing adventure of our stay: finding our room! Passfield Hall consists of a couple of buildings accessible through an inner yard. To get through the inner yard, you have to go downstairs, go through a couple of doors, go through a couple of hallways, etc... :) Needless to say, it took us 15 minutes to find our room!! But it wasn't a big deal and we found the whole thing quite funny.

Being a student residence, the rooms are absolutely HUGE (considering that I usually stay in youth hostels). Our twin room had 2 single beds, 2 desks, and 2 wardrobes. The toilets/showers were located outside the room. All were nice & clean.

The breakfast included is also huge. They serve (almost) full english breakfast. A definite plus compared to traditional continental breakfasts in youth hostels.

Passfield Hall is well located. It is close to the British Museum & St. Pancras/Kings Cross train stations. Also, Euston & Euston Square tube stations are close by.

All in all, a great place for people travelling on low budget at a relatively affordable price (for London!!).

I recently stayed at passfield hall for a week with my sisters. We got a triple room that was clean and comfortable - (remember these are dorm rooms) at a great price. The breakfast is fantastic, the service (from front desk to kitchen hall) was professional) and the location can't be beat. It's quiet and safe which are key for me. They provide maps with bus routes and food/restaurant locations - you are right by the tube or numerous buses that cater to tourist sites (the 14 and 24). There is a little garden in the back to have tea and read - and laundry and kitchen facilities. We used the shared bathroom in the hall - but it was always well serviced and clean. If you need a place to stay while sightseeing in London - this is a great place. In my travels I've stayed at a variety of 4 star hotels and all types of hostels and passfield hall was a great find! I would definitely go back and would recommend it to all!

Finding a reasonably priced hostel in London is easy enough, but finding one that isn't a flea bitten crap hole with rooms by the hour is another challenge entirely.

Search over. This place makes impromptu trips to London now affordable to the mere mortal. I came here as a cheap base for a study weekend, I was so impressed I am now bringing my young daughter to stay to take her around London before school goes back. There are not many £45 per night rooms in central London you would take a 4 year old to, but Passfield Hall is pretty good.

This place is sort of the MUJI of hostels/hotels, simple, to the point and does the job with more than a little panache.

Passfield Halls is the worse hostel that I have ever stayed in, the rooms were absolutely filthy and we hardly slept because of the constant noise coming from the traffic and the numerous stag parties that were staying in the hostel.

The attitude of the staff was well below standard and they were not in the least bit helpful.

I would not recommend using this hostel

Passfield hall was a really great place and I would definitely stay there again. For the first two nights, I stayed at Carr-Saunders hall and Passfield is worth the extra money. The bathrooms were very nice - clean and private. I had a twin room and it was big and nice, across the hall from the shared bathroom. The breakfast was good. I would like to let everyone know that they do not let visitors use the computer room as stated in earlier reviews. I don't know if you can get internet access from your own computer since I did not have mine with me. It is a short walk to the British Museum and tube/bus stops. I preferred taking the buses to get around. The students and other visitors were nice.
