A good stay, the bedrooms were of a high speck, clean, spacious and quiet. However both check in and check out were poor as just one person was at the front desk and slow at his job, meaning the long queue was slow moving.

I fail to see the point of the concierge desk as at no time was it manned and the doormen just stood around chatting all day amongst themselves.

The hotel is surrounded by convenient dining options so you can save plenty of money by grabbing a bite to eat locally.

I was unimpressed with this hotel for a number of reasons. My brother had checked into the hotel the day before me, and when I arrived fresh from my flight, they told me that they had no record of my brother staying there. They would not let me use the phone to call my brother, and since my cell phone did not work in London, I had to pay at an internet cafe to send him an email. Of course, my brother was in his room, and the front desk had simply "mixed things up." Not a good start. The general lack of cleanliness as well as the terrible service did not impress me. Additionally, I was using the jacuzzi in the fitness area, and 15 minutes before closing, the lights went out. Needless to say, I had to feel my way out of the jacuzzi and gym in near darkness. I risked slipping and incurring injury. I will not stay at this hotel again, and recommend that you do not either. There are much better options out there.

While I hate to see anyone have a bad experience at any hotel, I would like to give credit to Michael Hewson and the Marriott County Hall for actually monitoring Tripadvisor.com to see what guests are saying about their hotel. I stayed here 7 years ago and had no problems at all. I am also one of Marriotts Platinum rewards member, and time share owner(Aruba Surf Club) who monitors this site frequently and have never seen someone from management respond to a guests frustrations on this site. We will be checking in on Feb 20th for 4 nights, to celebrate my 40th birthday, and it makes me feel even better about my choice of hotel.

Hotel is in a great location - walking distance from Waterloo and Westminster stations. Very central to seeing many of the sights in London. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the rooms are modern. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. We did ask for directions to one of the sights at the front desk, and weren't given very good directions. They were very friendly about it, it just wasn't the best route to take. The room was spacious - we had 2 double beds, and they were true doubles, not queen size. I've found in Europe that sometimes the description says double bed, when the size is more like a queen size. Not so in this case, they were doubles. Not a problem for us, the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean for the most part, although if you took a hard look you would see that the bathroom floor and corners of the tub/shower could use a good scrub. The pool is basic, but it was clean, and the kids enjoyed it. Do take note that you have to get a code from the 5th floor in order to access the pool on the 6th floor. We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel, we went around the corner to the bagel shop and had a great breakfast for 1/4 of the price that the hotel wanted for their breakfast. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and will recommend this hotel to friends.
