THE original Poppies! After all of the times we had tried fish and chips in pubs, my girlfriend and I gave Poppies a visit during our vacation. We heard it was the real deal and supposedly some of the best fish and chips in all of London so the expectations were already sky high before we arrived.
We came here on a Saturday evening at about 8:30pm and, as expected, it was a PACKED house! We...more
Very nice piece of fried fish.
Yelp and many other lists recommend Poppies as one of the best Fish and Chips places in London. It did not disappoint. The restaurant has diner atmosphere and casual, friendly service. If you have a smaller appetite, I would recommend getting the kids meal, cod bites and chips, it was a decent size and I would not have been able to finish the adult size. The fish and chips were pretty good, I had fresher and better fish and chips at the Tail End in St. Andrews, Scotland, but Poppies wasn't bad.
I give 5 stars for the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream... so good!!more
