This place is in the midst of hipsterville near Brick Lane. It also a reputation that might precede itself. But I took my foreign friends here after they arrived recently and they really enjoyed the place. Some good haddock and chips.more
Yummy. Hot and fresh fish & chips.
Poppies is a wonderful spot out on the East side of London where you can get a good fried fish and chips. I choose the haddock. You are able to choose different sizes and what type of fish you want. We also got a side of mushy peas to round out our classic Fish & Chips joint and cross it off our London Must Eats.

I happened to live above Poppies for a few weeks and all that time there were people taking pictures of this apparently famous Fish and Chips place. I did also see the huge amounts of great fresh fish that was brought in.

Came to Poppie's by recommendation from a local. My husband and I split the large fish and chips order since neither of us were hungry enough for a full meal. Turns out this seems like a common enough thing to do.
