Flesh & Buns is the first London restaurant to serve Taiwanese hirata buns: do-it-yourself steamed, filled buns. Try the traditional pork filling, or opt for other fillings such as lamb, chicken or sea bass. There's also a selection of Japanese raw food and small plates on the menu, while the bar serves cocktails, sakes and Japanese whiskeys.

First of all, the service - and I mean from the minute I got to the reception/hostess station - was superb. I arrived alone and told him I'd be dining alone. I love Bone Daddies and Shackfuyu so I was really looking forward to Flesh & Buns.

The highlights were definitely the meat dishes: Korean fried chicken, duck (flesh), and pork (flesh). The s'mores at the end were a nice touch too.
The sushi, chips and dips, and tuna tartare were a bit of a letdown.

Be aware that this place get crowded very early. We went there for a very late lunch or a very early dinner, around 5:45, and therefore had no trouble to find a space for two.
We sat at this long table in the middle and very soon joined by other groupes of people. Personally, I think we were a bit too close to the others but it was quiet enough to hear each other across the table.

Downstairs is very dark and almost club-like with loud rock and roll music. It is softened with industrial/rustic decor and warm lighting.... Mehr erfahren
