In some cases, your embassy may assist you if you get into trouble when visiting the UK. Typically they can't offer much help if the problem is your fault.
When visiting London you are subject to British law. Your embassy may or may not offer help if you are arrested, depending on the nature and seriousness of the offence.
If you have your travel documents stolen, the embassy may assist with getting a new passport.
If you need to get home in an emergency or have money stolen from you, the embassy is unlikely to pay for a ticket home or help out with a loan.
It is always advisable to purchase adequate travel insurance before you travel.
