Absolutely fascinating and one of the final museums I got to in my quest to see the "ten most important museums in London." Wish I had come sooner, and particularly loved the MI-6 exhibit. You'll have to "find" that exhibit as its entrance is not entirely obvious but you'll really enjoy it when you get there.

Among the most impressive museums I've ever experienced, and I've seen a lot! Great for adults and kids.

The exhibit on World War I, the Great War, explained this war in the most clear fashion I have ever heard - through very engaging videos, photos, mock sets of what trenches were like, real war artifacts, press clippings, and more. Would recommend this museum just for that exhibit!...more

Wow... the refurb has done this place wonders. It was a great place to visit before, but now it's fantastic, especially given that it's free.

If left to my own devices, free or not, I'd not have visited the Imperial War Museum (IWM). But family trips aren't taken so that one can be left to their own devices.
