The Paddington Trail saw more than 50 individually-designed Paddington Bear statues decorating the streets of London. The trail has now ended, and the statues have been auctioned, raising thousands of pounds for the NSPCC.

What was The Paddington Trail?

From November to December 2014, London was thrilled to host The Paddington Trail in celebration of the city’s art, culture and innovation.

More than 50 Paddington Bear statues could be found taking up prominent positions close to museums, parks, shops and key landmarks, many of which were Paddington’s favourite London places. Each bear was lovingly created by an artist, designer or celebrity, whose names you can see below.

More than 350,000 explorers used The Paddington Trail website to plan their adventures around London. Even more took part in the trail of discovery, fuelled by lots and lots marmalade sandwiches.

Were you one of those intrepid explorers? No matter how many bears you found, download The Paddington Trail certificate and display it proudly at home.

The Paddington Trail helped to raise in the region of £750,000 for NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children), ChildLine and Action Medical Research when the bears were sold at auction.

Paddington Would Like to Thank...

The Paddington Trail was brought to life by visitlondon.com, STUDIOCANAL and the NSPCC in collaboration with Barclaycard. In addition to the fantastic artists and designers, Paddington would like to thank Selfridges, Pickfords, and the London boroughs of Westminster, the City of London, Kensington and Chelsea, Camden, Southwark, Lambeth, Hackney, Greenwich, Tower Hamlets, as well as Paddington author, Michael Bond, and his daughter, Karen Jankel.

Who is Paddington Bear?

The classic tales of the much-loved bear have sold more than 35 million books worldwide, been translated into over 40 languages and captured the imagination of children and adults around the globe. Paddington originally came from Darkest Peru where he was brought up by his Aunt Lucy. He now lives in London, England. When Paddington arrived in London he was found on Paddington Station by the Brown family which is how he acquired his name. He was wearing nothing but an old bush hat and a label on which Aunt Lucy had written the words "Please Look After This Bear. Thank You". Find out more at his official website: paddington.com
