On the banks of the Thames, Battersea Park is a lovely open space packed with activities for all ages. Get sporty on the tennis courts, bowling green or athletics track, or enjoy the tranquillity of the Peace Pagoda. Kids will love the children's zoo, which is home to both exotic creatures and farmyard animals. There is also a summer boating lake and an art gallery within the park.

Dont get me wrong it IS a very nice farm, nice for under 5's but a Zoo it is NOT and older siblings will be bored in 2 minutes. I took 2 of my children and it cost us 6.95 for me and 4.95 for each child and i'm sorry that is too expensive for a posh farm and it is very small it took us 20 mins to walk around slowly and then we left because there was nothing else for us to do. Very very very very disappointed, will never go back.

I used to live right across the street from this beautiful park and spend my lunchtimes eating my sandwiches and feeding the squirrels. There are little nooks and crannys to be found all through the park meaning you can always find your own personal haven. Kick a football around til late in the eve, play on the cricket pitch, hire a boat and row a loved one around the lake for cheap. Cycle or rollerblade down the gorgeous promenade. There are loads of dogs being walked on weekends by friendly owners and bands performing in the rotunda at some times. The imposing Battersea Power Station looms over and I think/hope is still is unoccupied. Pink Floyd filmed a clip here- the one with the large inflatable pig flying over the tower. Chelsea Bridge is right next to the park and you are only a hop skip and a jump from walking to Chelsea, (the flower show) and you can take a longer walk right to Oxford street for some shopping. Well, that’s how I’d spend my days anyhow! Battersea was a fabulous base to live and travel around London. One stop from Victoria station. Close to Clapham. Clapham Common has the best bars and pubs.
