English Heritage: Wellington Arch

About English Heritage: Wellington Arch

Come inside this famous landmark. Recently opened to visitors, this splendid triumphal arch at Hyde Park Corner was originally designed as a grand approach to Buckingham Palace. Once inside, take a lift up to the balconies, just below the spectacular bronze statue, for glorious views across the surrounding Royal Parks, to the Houses of Parliament. The statue is the largest bronze sculpture in Europe and depicts the angel of peace descending on the chariot of war.
