English National Ballet: Nutcracker

I enjoyed the ballet—it was beautiful. I did have a couple of observations that might make the experience even better. The dancing was lovely, though I felt a bit more symmetry in the choreography could enhance the visual impact. Also, the sound quality seemed a little off at times—the orchestra couldn’t quite mask the background noise of people eating snacks. I was surprised that food was allowed so openly, especially right after lunchtime when many in the audience were having huge amounts of snacks and drinks. Those rustling and crunching sounds did prove distracting. Eating during the performance should be banned. Still, it was a good performance overall.

A fantastic show in a lovely theater But security... one of our group used a folding scooter size hand luggage airplane to move around in London. He was not aloud to park this in the theater (not a problem during our visit in an another theater 3 days before) and had to store it in an shabby storage 10 minute WALK (for not disabled persons) from the theater The 4 stars are for the show and not for the warm welcome at the entrance!

What a fantastic production! From the moment the orchestra began, the Nutcracker was a magical Journey through Christmas. The staging and lighting were amazing and complemented the ballet beautifully. I have seen The Nutcracker previously, but the ENB excelled itself with this production. Added to that was the Coliseum - beautiful building and fantastic staff! Well worth the trip!

The Nutcracker was a truly magical christmas experience for my girl friend and I. Impeccable production, talented performers, and a spot orchestra made the whole thing a remarkable night out. Electric!
