Without question, this is the best stage production I have ever seen. I experienced goosebumps and tears! The audience is a part of the show as the seats create the "districts". Our seats actually moved to allow more space for props and performers. There was fire, smoke, lightning... I nearly expected to feel the rain. We will have to come again - you cannot see everything!

I’m going to be proactively positive about this production because it truly deserves it. Yes, the first half is a little prolonged and yes, it would be a challenge to follow the story if you’re not conversant with the books and/or films, but overall this is an excellent staging of The Hunger Games and its combination of superb, innovative, stagecraft from actors to production staff et al makes for a great experience. That we had brilliant seats obviously helped and perhaps that’s my only bugbear as in the cost of those seats but hey, it was a very special occasion and we can cook potatoes over a candle for the next month, well, we might not actually be able to light the candle. As for the Troubadour Theatre itself, it’s a smashing place with wonderfully helpful, friendly and professional staff.

It was okay. Not bad, but not brilliant. There were some clever ideas, and representations but honestly… some of the performances (Katniss in particular) were so bad it was almost uncomfortable to watch. Which was a real shame, because there were some stellar performances also. It *almost* great but didn’t quite hit the mark. There have been many London shows that I’ve seen more than one once… this won’t be one of them.

The Hunger Games: On Stage ist die erste Theateradaption von Suzanne Collins’ international gefeiertem Buch und Lionsgates Kinofilm Die Tribute von Panem. Basierend auf Collins’ Originalgeschichte und dem darauf folgenden Film begleitet das Stück die jugendliche Heldin Katniss Everdeen auf ihrer Reise der Selbstfindung, während sie in der dystopischen Welt von Panam ums Überleben kämpft.

Jedes Jahr werden zwei Kinder – ein Junge und ein Mädchen – aus den zwölf Distrikten von Panam per Losverfahren ausgewählt und auf eine einsame Insel gebracht, um an einem obligatorischen, im Fernsehen übertragenen Kampf auf Leben und Tod, den sogenannten „Hungerspielen“, teilzunehmen.
