Übersicht

The oldest restaurant in London, Rules has been serving traditional British food since 1798. Once frequented by Charles Dickens and H.G Wells, the restaurant has retained its historical charm with leather banquettes, low-level lighting and antique pictures.

Its traditional feel also applies to its food. You’ll find hearty traditional British dishes such as pies and puddings, as well as game and beef from the restaurant's own estate.

Its wide-ranging wine list features mostly French wines; while the atmospheric bar upstairs serves a range of spirits and classic cocktails.

Summary: Would leave 0 stars if I could. Don't go here. Rules has an incredibly racist and elitist atmosphere, and the food isn't anywhere near the quality to make up for it.

The oldest restaurant in London reeks with the same old attitudes of racism, classism, and elitism during its founding time of 1798. Unless there's drastic change to address the exclusionary nature of this... Mehr erfahren

This is a piece of history. It's the oldest continuous serving restaurant in England. Dating back to the early 1800's whilst you guys were still shooting each other.

The walls are covered in wonderful charactertures depicting the incredible history of patrons. The night we dined, we saw 2 MP's from Parliament. I mean in person, not on the wall!

The menu is aggressively British featuring Wild... Mehr erfahren

Traditional English restaurant, excellent food and service , delicious dishes. To my personal opinion, this is a must go restaurant if you are visiting London. Prices are fair for the quality of food and service provided. Ask their waiters for any reference needed. Order the right dishes are essential to a pleasant dinning experience, since their staffs know their dishes in details, please... Mehr erfahren

Supposedly the oldest restaurant in London, dating back to the 18th century, it's more post-Victorian in decor and style than anything else. Service was attentive, and they offered me a newspaper to read while I waited for my food, something that would never be done at a fine restaurant in the States.

I had the rabbit braised in saffron. At least as chicken-y as rabbity, it looked very... Mehr erfahren

Waiter was a dick.

Oldest restaurant is London. Cute, kitschy decor. Extensive wine list. Yelp won't let me just write "waiter is a dick."

Centrally located. Walking distance to the West End, Chinatown, Gaybourhood, Theatre District.

Food yummy, look at pics.

Worst service I had in London but I would go back again, the food was actually really good.

Waiter still a dick. Mehr erfahren
