In the heart of the West End, Waxy O'Connors is like no other bar and restaurant you've ever visited.
The extraordinary interior has some amazing features, including cathedral-like timber carvings, stained glass windows, beautifully tiled floors, and the trunk and branches of a giant preserved beech tree.
Within this quirky venue are three bars and six different levels linked together by a warren of staircases and passages.
The Irish pub stage regular live music and promotions, and show all the top sporting events on a big screen.

Wow, what an interesting, charming, confusing, labyrinthine place. It definitely seems like it popped out of Lord of the Rings. It has this fantastically alive vibe, like the patrons should be wearing deerskin boots and have swords or bows strung across their back... Like there should be a bard in a corner, or a ranger near a fireplace.
Imagine, if you will... a multi-story pub, with trees... Mehr erfahren
Loved the atmosphere, people, food, and beer here.
I had a flight starting with Crafty(?) IPA (my fav), center in pic is Guinness-like, and the last is Guinness. Fish & chips were on spot. I love crispier fries so these had the krinkles which make them 100x more enjoyable to me than regular steak fries. It came with smashed peas- I as excited to try, but it was a little cold to really... Mehr erfahren
In honor of St. Patrick's day!!
I could keep this brief. And to a point I will, and to a point I will not.
The coolest bar I have (in my lifetime) been to. I know I still have a lot of traveling to do and more places to find but this place... built around a tree has like 3... maybe 4 (I really don't remember) different bar areas to ensure you get the drinks you need quickly. Perhaps the... Mehr erfahren
My husband and I spent a week in London and one of the "requirements" while we were there was to go to an English pub, have a couple of pints and some fish and chips. My husband chose this particular location, and made sure there was something I would eat/drink on the menu.
We arrived and the place was pretty busy. We headed upstairs because we wanted food and many of the pubs that we had... Mehr erfahren
Love this place. It's right next to the "Times Square" of London, but don't let that fool you. This place is far removed as being a tourist trap.
You order at the bar and sit wherever you want and they bring the food out to you. We had a burger and a meat pie. Yes, a meat pie. I've been wanting to try one of these forever, and I just never got around to it. Until now that is! Service... Mehr erfahren
