I will say some of the items in the place are truly horrible, The Boot a tool for removing the foot is well worth seeing.

Go and have a look and draw your own judgement. I enjoyed.

I found this museum atmospheric without being sensational. There is a lot of reading matter, including a substantial amount from contemporary writings, making this a very informative visit. I was interested from the historical point of view, and was quite happy to digest all and every notice, and my six year old grandson, who had been a fortnight previously, couldn't stop talking about it. A small museum, yes, but then this is reflected in the price. The young lady in the ticket office was tremendously helpful, looking after my heavy bag of vegetables from the market so I could walk round unfettered!

Complete rip-off.

This place deserves to be shut down. 15 minutes of walking through 4 rooms with posterboard "information", most of which is spelled incorrectly and sensationalist at best. It's simply pathetic...

It's simply pathetic. Don't waste your time.

Went to the Clink because it was cheap (£5.00 a ticket). It took 40minutes to go around. It was an extemely small 'museum' with not a lot to look at, but a lot to read on the walls. Some facts were very interesting, and you couldn't believe what went on back in the day, but a lot of it was a load a gabble and wasn't interesting to read OR anything to do with the clink. Wouldn't recommend this for children as it's just reading in a small celler almost.

It's ok to visit the clink if your passing by, have 45minutes to spare, and don't mind spending £5.00 on a couple of good facts.

The saying "thrown in the clink" is universal i hear and read it everywhere, while traveling around london with my family i found the source of this phrase..."the clink prison" a museum dedicated to medieval crime and punishment and one of the most notoriuos of all london prsions! While the museum is small it houses huge amounts of infomation and the kids loved the fact they could touch and play with all the exhibits, it makes a real change from the in your face attractions that seem to be all over the place these days. my eledest was taken aback by the gruesome stories and facts and my little ones were just thrilled they could "chop my head off at the end" you can buy a history guide which for 2 pounds gives you a welath of knowledge and loads of great picture for the kids home work. There were a few disgruntled customers who thought it was not all it was cracked up to be but i think they must have thought it was a themepark...ahah. we got in on the 12 pound family ticket and had 45 minutes of fun for the whole family. It taakes some imagination but with lovely infomative staff and the right attitude i do not see how anyone could complain about this gem right next to the thames. Worth checking out.
