Elizabeth line in London

The Elizabeth line runs through central London and goes to Reading and Heathrow Airport in the west and Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east. To reach stations beyond central London, you’ll need to change at Paddington or Liverpool Street until autumn 2022. After that, the trains will run straight through from end to end.

Bond Street station is not yet open on the Elizabeth line, but Transport for London expects it to be added to the line later in 2022.

Elizabeth line trains arrive every five minutes (12 trains an hour) from 6.30am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday.

The Elizabeth line section through central London does not have service on Sundays, but a Sunday timetable is set to be introduced at a later date. 

Yes, Oyster cards are accepted for most journeys, except for stations west of West Drayton.

Contactless payment cards are accepted at all stations on the Elizabeth line, or if you use an Oyster card, you can buy a paper ticket if you’re travelling beyond West Drayton.

Fares are the same on the Elizabeth line as the rest of the London Underground network and vary by the time you travel (peak and off-peak fares), as well as how many zones you travel through.

Every Elizabeth line station has step-free access between the street and the platform, except for Ilford which is in the process of becoming step-free and is expected to be completed in summer 2022. Free toilets are available at many stations, but some are inside the ticket barriers. Station staff are available for assistance from the first train to the last train.
