Good Pan Asian Cuisine
I haven't been to Banana Tree for quite a while. It is known for its pan Asian cuisine with rich tamarind sauses with fresh salads. My favourite is the fish they used to serve. They now have a fried Talipa, I think that's a fresh wster fish, lightly fried with a coating of Tamarind sauce, peanuts, coriander and slices of chilly. Decent food. Smells awesomely fresh. Happy hour lasts till 7:30pm were mocktails are buy one get one free for approximately £5/6. Lychee mohito is lovely. more
Stopped by here for a quick lunch, they were pretty empty, a few people were seated. Was presented with a drinks, veggie and a la carte. They have a happy hour from Opening time till about 7pm, bargain!!
I liked that they have a separate veggie menu, its quite diverse, and some pretty good options, with or without egg.

Decent food, reasonably priced, good presentation.
We ordered the satay, laksa, and the tamarind crispy fish combo. All were good, but the laksa definitely stood out.
For drinks we had the lychee and lemongrass mocktail ad since it was happy hour, we got another one free!

Always a fan of some good Asian food, I thought I'd go have a look at this restaurant. I liked the atmosphere when I got on around 4 because it was quiet but by the time I left around 5.30 it had become crowded and noisy.
The service in general was a bit slow, no matter whether there was one other table or 10, but the food came out quickly which was good.
