As an anglophile of sorts but never impressed by British food, I had heard raves, for the last 10-15 years, of the modern take on typical local and seasonal produce by young chefs. Visiting London atleast twice a year and never trying it out, not for want of desire, but lack of interest by friends in London, I finally got my way.

This super presumptions place with carelessly cooked food and poor service. We were seated upstairs at a dirty table top. Asparagus for starters was uncooked and without flavour. Pigeon was too salty. Vegetarian main came cold. Markup on wine is 4-5x (ref Vivino). Go somewhere else. more
My boyfriend and I came here for our 6 month anniversary, and although it has ranked poorly on Yelp, it has been ranked as a top Romantic place to eat in London (TimeOut) and has favourable popular reviews on other sites.
