Downstairs at the Zigfrid von Underbelly is the “Underbelly” part of the equation. The large basement area hosts DJs, bands and other live music acts throughout the week. With such a busy schedule, this is a great place to visit if you are in the mood for some music. Upstairs the bar churns out an eclectic array of cocktails and also serves British and American bar food, so you can grab some tacos before hitting the dance floor. The capacity of this Shoreditch spot is more than 500, with space for another 100 out on the terrace, so a full-swing Zigfrid von Underbelly party is a memorable night.

It's times like these I despair that 'psychedelic vintage music venue' is not a category on Yelp. Zigfrid von Underbelly looks like an emo hunting lodge meets rocker set. And unlike quite a few places in the area, it feels very genuine rather than what often comes across as over-done, artificial hipster quirkiness. Definitely A+ for effort on the decor and vibe!

It was my first meal in London and they nailed it! It was great to see numerous vegan options on their menu. I went for the veggie burger and the kale and bean salad. It hit the spot! more
This place was really good, we had dinner and as per pic that was a great burger (total meal was around 15£ without drinks). Also had a great night here, drinks were ok and staff was quite friendly. Can't give 5 stars as it feels like the place is trying to be something it is not - A trendy place. It is great for food and drinks and they do stay open till late, but most of the deco and the way... more
Really cool place - we were super impressed with the food and the cocktails. Food wise, we had some very spicy and delicious chicken wings, some light and crisp calamari and then the really tasty chicken schnitzel. The star dish though was the flat iron steak - didn't expect to see it on the menu and it was cooked to perfection! A real bargain too. We just came for drinks but so glad we stayed... more
Went to see a friend playing in a gig. Great small venue for local bands and a lovely place to meet up with a group. It's in a perfect location in Hoxton Square, not too far from the Northern Line.
The bar is quirky and cool, with an upstairs and outside area for eating, drinking and talking. You head downstairs and you find the music venue, which has comfortable places to sit, plenty of... more
