Blacklock City, the popular Soho eatery’s younger sibling, fittingly opened its doors on the site of a medieval meat market. Cuts of beef, lamb and pork sourced from Cornish farmer and butcher Philip Warren, renowned for the high quality of his meat, star on the menu.

Now a more homely venue than it was in its market days, visitors can settle down in leather-covered rosewood chairs and soak up stylish interiors that feature Art Deco lamps, exposed brick walls and antique mirrors.

The drinks list features a range of beers, wine on tap and by the glass and a selection of cocktailspriced at just five pounds each.
