With a combination of delicious food, great wines and a real ambience, Café Rouge has embodied the style and je ne sais quoi of French dining since it opened way back in 1989.Now with over 90 sites across the country it's just the place to mull over the morning papers with a cafe au lait and a croissant, pop in for a spot of lunch, share a post-work drink or relax over an evening meal. The menu covers a range of French classics from croques and baguettes, ideal for a quick and easy snack, to more substantial fare such as steak frites and boeuf bourguignon. Likewise, the wines are predominately French; many made by lesser known producers, and provide the perfect accompaniment to the food on offer. No hassle, no rush, no skinny- decaff-double-shot-to-go, just a vibrant atmosphere that moves with your moods throughout the day.

Accordingly I'd advise to avoid. more
Food was really dried up, looked like it had been under hot lights too long.
Duck was rank.
I went before and had moules frites and they still had the beards on them.
Not brilliant, other cafe rouge's are so much nicer.
Plus side it's a lovely decor, lovely staff and good service. more

And after reading the other reviews I am aware of this being a chain restaurant, but as an outsider, it is new to me, chain or not.
We walked in around noon and had no problem getting a table as the place was... more
Despite being a chain restaurant (we're more fans of little places), this place is great. I was really impressed by the customer service. Our waiter forgot the appetiser, but not only apologised he also gave us complimentary coffees. We all make mistakes and we appreciated the way that this waiter handled the error. The food was good and at a decent price. more
First things first if you are reading this review and are considering going, book a table! it can get extremely busy so don't turn up without it booked as you'll get turned away.
It is very clean inside and generally has a good atmosphere. The menu is pretty good, and there is a mix of meat, fish and vegetarian. Their orange juice is delish so def try that out. If they make the Creme... more
