Known for its stylish interiors, Galley has a retro-chic feel and plenty of quirky art picked by stylist Oriona Robb, one of the siblings from the duo behind the restaurant.
But it’s not all style over substance here - the food is excellent too. Robb’s brother Marcel Gryzb takes the lead in the kitchen with inspiration from the seasons. His team hand-picks ingredients to ensure they only use the best.
In keeping with the nautical name of the restaurant, fish is Gryzb’s speciality and there is plenty of it to try, alongside an extensive oyster menu.
For drinks, there's a good wine selection, inventive cocktails and a long gin list, each paired with the perfect botanicals and tonic water.

As a regular on Upper Street, I am always intrigued to see the changing face of its food and drink players. The chains like Pizza Express and Byron hold on for dear life. The old timers like Mem & Laz and Sacre Coeur have firmly cemented themselves as Islington royalty, then there is the new kids on the block, like Vintage Salt and Bellanger.

I love this place. It's new, super nice, and I have a feeling that it will be a hit. We came on a Wednesday evening, just a few weeks after its opening at the beginning of February, and got prime seating right by the window and next to the bar. The décor is done to a very high standard, and it has the vibe of luxury without being stuffy. Galley, as you might pick up from the name, is a seafood... more
Galley is a new restaurant on Upper Street, focusing mainly on seafood dishes. It isn't of any particular cuisine as its flavours and cooking styles ranges from
varied global influences.
They went for the modern contemporary look. Nice bar at the front with sleek leather bar stools for those who just want a drink. Leather couches and colourful chairs for the more formal dining. It was kind of... more
Lovely new spot that we were fortunate enough to check out with friends while in town. The decor is beautiful and the service was relaxed and friendly but excellent.
I started with the crab salad which was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. My husband really enjoyed his octopus and chorizo starter, as well.
My main course was the lobster pappardelle. I won't lie, I devoured... more
