Tucked away down a side street under The Phoenix Theatre, The Phoenix Artist Club is a charming escape from the bustle of the West End. Packed with produce from local suppliers, the menu offers seasonal European flavours. With echoes of its theatrical setting throughout, the theatre bar is located in the original dressing and rehearsal rooms of the Phoenix Theatre. You never quite know who might make an appearance, or take to the stage for an impromptu performance. The Restaurant, led by Celebrity Head Chef Robert Kusy, serves on the freshest, finest produce, sourced from local suppliers. The cheese from Covent Garden's Neal's Yard, the meat from Hatton Garden. The club serves classic dishes with modern twists.

It is all decorated in a very theatrical style, with lots of headshots of different performers and signed pictures, great art, disco balls and mood lighting.

I slipped in here yesterday for a quick pint after seeing Once at the Phoenix Theatre next door. It was very quite, as it was early evening. It's actually a members club, but think non-members can get in before 8pm or with a theatre ticket.
I loved the atmosphere of this basement joint, and will be back soon! more
