I've lived in London for nearly 10 years but had never been to Wapping until the other day. It is a massive hassle to get to but the journey is worth it for the Captain Kidd. Probably my second favorite sam smith pub. The barkeep could have been a little nicer. This pub is very nice, but not as old as you may think, built in 1980. I love the outdoor area with the riverfront views. Really nice spot. The kitchen is closed on Mondays (or Tuesday after a bank holiday). more

Popped by this place not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by warm and spacious themed interiors and really lovely service. Excellent menu signage indicating what items were vegetarian or vegan, and the mushroom wellington and aubergine/beet curry were both surprising and excellent vegetarian dishes. more

It basically is what you'd expect from a Sam Smith pub- nowadays... more

Here we go: sadly another example of a pub with self-righteous staff imagining themselves trade union leaders standing up for bureaucracy. Customers are a hassle. In an empty restaurant, my family are rejected to secondary seating away from our own choice due to the fact that we won't occupy all seats. Well good bye. Although I'm not that unreasonable to recognise that tables need to be... more
