Viet Hoa is split into two sections. The upstairs cafe serves simple dishes, while the downstairs “mess” encourages you to cook your own food. Each table has an infrared grill for the guests to cook on. There is a lot of competition between the Vietnamese restaurants on the Kingsland road, but Vie Hoa’s authentic dishes, novel diner interactivity and incredibly sweet and strong coffee, give it the edge it needs to stand out from the crowd.
