After a long day of touring and shopping in London, it definitely was time for a drink and some food and stopping at this place was a great choice'

High energy and a nice atmosphere, I definitely was excited to enjoy some happy hour time.

Nice enough place, but the first seven - SEVEN - things we tried to order for dinner at 7:30 pm, the answer was I'm sorry we're out. The house pies? Out. The house specialties on the menu? Out. It's good, not great. The restaurant (located upstairs) was suggested as a last-minute dining spot. I had the Scottish Salmon to start and Fish & Chips as my main. The starter Scottish Salmon was fresh and an absolute delight - although a couple extra pieces of toast would've been nice (came with only two small half slices equating to one piece of toast). It's a decent pub and its advantage is that it's open early and can provide that morning pint for drunken tourists like myself.

However it feels quite desolate if you come before lunch - but I guess this can't be helped.

Bear in mind it's a chain pub (and nicholson's at that, which isn't my personal favourite) so the touch isn't too personal.

Very nice. We are from NYC. Dinner is served upstairs. The waitress was attentive to our party of five. We had two fish and chips, lamb, chili and a burger. Seemed like local people in the pub area on a Thursday evening. more
