When is the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre taking place?

The 2024 season at the Regent's Park Open Theatre runs from 23 March to 21 September, kicking off this spring with the heartwarming Bear Snores On (23 Mar-21 Apr). Later this summer, the program showcases Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night (3 May-8 Jun), followed by a children's favourite of Roald Dahl's The Enormous Crocodile (17 May-8 Jun).

Continuing the celebration of theatre in all its forms, the program includes The Secret Garden (15 Jun-20 Jul), a play that beautifully captures the essence of nature. And to top it all off, the ever-popular musical Fiddler on the Roof (27 Jul-21 Sep) will grace the stage promising an unforgettable finale to a season filled with the best of theatre.

What is the 2024 program?

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre 2024 program includes a variety of performances, including classic plays, puppetry, modern adaptations, and musicals. 

This year features five shows, from a Shakespeare classic tale of love, grief, and hope against the backdrop of the mediterranean sun with Twelfth Night, to discovering what nature can bring to a lonely girl in search of purpose with The Secret Garden- expect to see mesmerising decors unleashing the power of storytelling.

For family favourites... see your little ones reveal into the magic of another Roald Dahl adaptation with The Enormous Crocodile, where puppetry brings animals of all size and colours to life. Or see Bear Snores On and follow the adventures of a little mouse seeking refuge away from the winter cold, a heartwarming tale promise of adventures and wonderful friendships ahead.

Delight with the return of the highly popular Fiddler on the Roof, a brand new production of this smash-hot musical following a proud father abiding to strict traditions opposed to his daughters following the appeal of modernity. Belly laughs guaranteed!

  • Picnic hampers: The theatre offers pre-order picnic hampers that you can enjoy before the show or during the interval.
  • The Grill: Visit this pop-up restaurant for a variety of grilled food, salads, sides, and desserts. The Grill is located in the theatre's courtyard and is open before the show.
  • The Pizza Oven: Enjoy a selection of freshly cooked 12-inch pizzas before the show, or you can choose to go for a slice. The Pizza Oven is not open at the interval or post show.
