Dalston hotspot Servant Jazz Quarters describes itself as a “boutique music venue and cocktail bar” – a winning combination in most people’s books. Friday nights mean free entry and live jazz, while on Saturdays top London DJs spin their best vinyls. A whole programme of live performances fills the rest of the week, meaning there’s always something going on in the cosy basement space (there’s also an upstairs bar), where the likes of Laura Mvula, Seb Rochford and Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip have performed.

Love this bar. Very chilled out, pretty good cocktails (which can take awhile to make so be prepared to wait), and musical acts to keep you entertained downstairs. more

It was named after it's proximity to the Dalston Jazz Bar (i.e. it's right behind), and although it doesn't hold events very often, they are always of a high standard and with a beautiful atmosphere. Imagine walking inot someone's house, but the house is a place full of fairy lights, strange sculptures made from junk, and kitch... more
