Okay, so we went there expecting Thai but were told that the Thai has moved to the Docklands and they were now serving Korean food here. Really felt like a good Thai but already hungry so decided to take risk. The food was really nice as it turned out, loved the crispy chicken wings (called KFC strangely enough!). How can this place have gotten such a good rating???

We get there and they take our order, we were literally 8 guest there and it takes them 35 minutes to get us our food. I ordered the kimchi jigae. There is no fucking kimchi in it???? The soup smelled so bad, it smelled sea and I guess it was because of the seafood in it but I have eaten this exact food elsewhere, it should not smell like... more

Kinkao provides a beautifully intricate and unique dining experience. The staff is dressed in traditional Thai attire to serve you. Starters are served in small tower dishes, which are great for groups! It's fun; it's different. Evenings are great for date night, when they'll accompany your table with a small lit candle.

It always feels a bit like cheating to have Thai rather than Indian food on Brick Lane but Kinkao never disappoints. The decor is a bit cliché and over the top, but the food is delicious and very good value. I have tried a number of curries and stir fries, all yummy.
