I asked nicely for a gin and tonic, and the bartender couldn't hear me. I repeat it, and he says back "a gin and tonic, PLEASE AND THANK YOU". Right. When he returns with it, I'm given a plastic cup with half a shot of gin and it, and a plastic bottle of tonic water to pour my own drink.
