Serving steak, seafood and cocktails, Locale is situated in the heart of Blackheath village. A firm fixture on the Blackheath restaurant scene for many years, Locale re-opened in 2014 with a new look for the new season. Locale is, as the name suggests, about great, local neighbourhood dining, and continues to be one of south London?s premier dining destinations. The menu by Executive Chef Paolo Barone, (formerly of Osteria Basilico and the renowned Locanda Locettelli,) is an exciting mix of: homemade pasta and ravioli, as well as a great selection of seafood and grilled meats. Specialist meats include steaks from Chianina beef, imported direct from Tuscany, cooked to perfection on the Josper grill.

I'm italian and the food doesn't taste italian.. it doesn't even taste good at all! Service wasn't satisfying and everything is very overpriced.

Locale is delicious. Good customer service and really nice bartenders and waiters. They definitely have some type of American management because the place is run more efficiently and with better customer service than to the UK standard.
The real hero of Locale is the cocktail menu. The drinks here are to die for. They have something for everyone and they are so so so good.

This is a great little hole in the wall just off of the Blackheath Station. Locale is quite the accommodating place as they have a private hire downstairs area, a quaint bar upstairs and a good sized dining room.
While I have only been for a private party and numerous cocktails at the bar, I will say this is a great place to meet up to kick start your night.

I went to Locale last night and had a wonderful experience. I agree with one reviewer who says the service can be a little slow at times, however, Locale makes up for that in the high quality of their cuisine. I started with the Prawn Salad and my main was the Bass served with mussels and clams lying on wilted spinach in a spicy tomato sauce . This was the star of the show and an AMAZING... more
Had a really nice dining experience here. My friends and I went on Christmas for their Christmas dinner. We all really liked the meal.
