1. Mother Clucker
Bite into succulent fried chicken at Mother Clucker, made using a secret blend of spices. The halal chicken here is first brined in tea, then soaked in buttermilk, and twice battered for crispiness and taste. Pair it with Cajun fries for a spicy hit.
2. Bad Boy Pizza Society
Enjoy a slice or two of New York-style pizza in the heart of London at Bad Boy Pizza Society. The Sicilian inspired pizzas are thick, fluffy and crispy, with flavours including margherita, pepperoni alla vodka and cacio e pepe.
Find them: Seven Dials Market (daily 12pm - 8pm), Vinegar Yard (Tuesday - Sunday) and selected KERB markets and festivals in the summer.
3. Spinach & Agushi
Go Ghanaian with Spinach & Agushi, whose flavour-packed stews fill a spot, whatever the weather. Be attracted by the aromas of chicken groundnut stew with peanut sauce, or spinach and agushi featuring melon seeds; and pair your dish with jollof rice and fried plantain for an additional taste of west Africa.
4. Humble Crumble
Delve into artisan flavours at Humble Crumble and choose between an apple or rhubarb base (or both), classic or vegan shortbread and luxurious toppings including blowtorched meringue, pure vanilla custard and edible rose petals. Keep an eye out for the seasonal crumble creations too.
5. Mother Flipper
Get down and dirty with Mother Flipper's burgers, including its signature candy bacon burger topped with bacon fried in maple syrup. Keep an eye out for sister venture Korean Wings by Mother Flipper for sticky and spicy Asian wings.
Find them: Brockley Market (Saturday) and Victoria Park Market (Sunday).
6. The Rib Man
Brave The Rib Man’s devilishly hot sauces on whole and half racks of ribs, or in rolls and wraps – or opt for smoky BBQ if you can’t take the heat. Former butcher and avid West Ham United fan Mark Gevaux has built up a loyal following, so get there early to avoid disappointment.
7. Yorkshire Burrito
Enjoy a Yorkshire pudding like never before with Yorkshire Burrito. Choose from hot fillings including beef, chicken and cauliflower cheese, wrapped up with roast potatoes, stuffing and signature gravy in a fluffy Yorkshire pudding wrap.
8. Yum Bun
Yum Bun is the home of soft steamed buns, stuffed with creative fillings including slow roasted pork belly, Japanese-style fried chicken and crispy aromatic tofu. The flavours change daily in keeping with seasonal products. Innovative sides include seaweed fries and crunchy Asian slaw.
Find them: Spitalfields Market (daily) and Seven Dials Market (daily)
9. Wahaca Street Kitchen
Sample food on the go from Mexican restaurant chain Wahaca. Moving away from the small plates restaurant concept, ex-Masterchef winner Thomasina Miers has created two roaming street food kitchens serving burritos, tacos and salads using ethically sourced ingredients.
