What is The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the Sadler’s Wells theatre about?
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe London show is a captivating tale of wonder, sacrifice and love – an unforgettable show the whole family will enjoy.
The story begins in London during World War II, as the city endures the devastation of The Blitz. Children from all over the country are being evacuated to the peaceful English countryside and among them are siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie who find refuge in the secluded manor of the wise Professor Digory Kirke.
In the quiet of the countryside, a simple game of hide-and-seek leads Lucy to a mysterious wardrobe that, upon entering, transports her and her siblings to the enchanting land of Narnia.
In this magical kingdom, they encounter wondrous creatures – chatty beavers, charming fawns and a majestic lion who is as elusive as he is powerful. But all is not as it seems. The land is gripped by an eternal winter cast by the cruel White Witch, whose dark rule threatens to destroy the hope of Narnia forever.
As the siblings journey through this mysterious land with their new friends, they stand against the White Witch, discovering that courage and love are the ultimate forces to conquer even the darkest evils.
With spellbinding sets, breathtaking special effects, and masterful puppetry, this production brings to life the timeless story. Watch as the Pevensie children wave goodbye to wartime Britain and embark on a quest like no other.
