About Stiletto the musical
Be transported to 18th-century Venice, where opportunity is in the air and the city is bustling with dreamers. Among them is Marco, a young man who was castrated as a child to preserve his beautiful singing voice – a practice that promised fame and fortune for those lucky enough to make it.
Follow Marco’s tumultuous story of passion and intrigue as he falls in love with Gioia, the daughter of an African slave who he tries to help achieve a stage career.
In an attempt to get her on stage, Marco introduces Gioia to society and his patron, the Contessa Azzurra, but at the end of the evening, a body lies dead and Gioia is hauled off to prison. To free her, Marco must overcome the demons of his past and the morally corrupt forces of the present. Can he manage it?
The musical is brought to life with an original score by three-time Grammy nominee, Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Matthew Wilder (Disney’s Mulan) and directed by multi-award-winner David Gilmore (Grease, Lend Me a Tenor, Daisy Pulls It Off).
