About

Don’t miss Elektra, a thrilling adaptation of Sophocles’ timeless play, showing at the Duke of York’s Theatre for a strictly limited 11-week run.

Starring Oscar winner Brie Larson in her West End debut, this gripping Greek tragedy is set to be nothing short of electrifying.

About Elektra

Expect high-stakes family drama, shocking twists and a fierce pursuit of justice in this fresh take on Sophocles’ Elektra – where vengeance is the dish of the day.

This Greek tragedy revolves around Elektra, who is consumed by grief and fury following her father Agamemnon’s brutal assassination at the hands of her mother, Clytemnestra, and her mother’s lover, Aegisthus.

Seething with anger and haunted with the idea of revenge, Elektra longs for the return of her brother, Orestes, so that together they can bring their murderous mother to justice. But at what cost?

Promising to bring fire and fury to the West End stage, prepare for a modern, hard-hitting reimagining of Elektra, directed by Daniel Fish (Oklahoma!) in the first major revival of Sophocles’ cutting-edge play in over a decade.

Elektra cast

Elektra stars Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson (Room, Lessons in Chemistry, Captain Marvel), making her highly anticipated West End debut as vengeful daughter Elektra in this ancient tragedy.

The play also stars Stockard Channing (The West Wing, The Good Wife), Marième Diouf (Romeo and Juliet, The Globe), Greg Hicks (Grapes of Wrath, Coriolanus) and Patrick Vaill (Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Oklahoma!).
