About

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the iconic music event that brought the world together, the musical Just For One Day returns to London! Following its record-breaking premiere at the Old Vic in 2024 as the theatre's fastest-selling musical, it now takes the stage at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

The musical is set to become London’s ultimate night out, featuring iconic hits by legends such as Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Queen and many more.

What is Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical about?

The cast of Just For One Day stand in the centre of the stage and perform a song, with two performers on either side of the stage and a screen in the background showing footage from the Live Aid concert.

On 13 July 1985, history was made in London as the world’s biggest rock stars took to the stage for Live Aid. This legendary event not only captured global attention but also showcased unforgettable performances, including Queen’s iconic comeback in a one-of-a-kind moment in rock'n'roll history.

The new musical written by John O’Farrell (Mrs Doubtfire) and directed by Luke Sheppard (&Juliet) features chart-topping hits from that iconic era, including songs by Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen, Madonna, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and more. It also celebrates the historic artists who united the world through music, with simultaneous charitable concerts held across London and Philadelphia.

In spirit of this historic event 10% from the sale of all tickets will be donated directly to The Band Aid Charitable Trust.

With spectacular performances, vibrant staging and a story that resonates, Just For One Day promises to be an unmissable experience for music lovers and theatre enthusiasts alike.
