What is the musical Sunset Boulevard about?
Step into the dazzling world of Hollywood's golden age as the hauntingly beautiful and tragic story of Norma Desmond unfolds before your eyes.
Sunset Boulevard follows the life of a faded silent-screen star, who is desperate for a comeback and is clinging to her former glory. Joe Gillis, an up-and-coming yet struggling screenwriter trying to get a gig with Paramount Studios, might just be the answer to all her problems. But the relationship between the diva and aspiring producer takes a turn for the worst when an intoxicating need for fame collides with tragic romance.
Sunset Boulevard the musical was first shown in London in 1993, 40 years after audiences fell in love with the 1950 silent movie of the same name by celebrated director Billy Wilder. Many actresses have shone in the role of Norma, the deluded diva; from Patti LuPone, who performed in the original production, to the formidable Glenn Close, a stage and screen legend. In this thrilling production, the talented Nicole Scherzinger makes her return to London's West End to take on the role of the mesmerising movie star.
Featuring iconic songs such as "With One Look", "The Perfect Year" and "As If We Never Said Goodbye", Sunset Boulevard promises thrilling performances from the cast that will leave you in awe.
Please note that Nicole Scherzinger will not perform on 5 October at 2.30pm and on Mondays starting from 9 October.
