What is Carmen about?
Set in 20th-century southern Spain, towards the end of the Spanish Civil War, Carmen tells the story of a strong woman doing what she can to survive in a poor town. In her search for love, Carmen meets Don José, a young soldier who sacrifices everything to be with her. However, amid a whirl of passion, jealousy and freedom, tragedy strikes.
