Hasse: Piramo E Tisbe at Cadogan Hall

About

Classical Opera and The Mozartists present the UK premiere of Hasse's fascinating Piramo e Tisbe. Hasse (1699-1783) was one of the most eminent composers of the 18th century, composing a total of 62 operas. He considered Piramo e Tisbe to be his finest work, and it is by far the most experimental of his compositions, incorporating many of Gluck's operatic reforms in music of sumptuous lyricism. Conductor Ian Page is joined by Swiss-Belgian soprano Chiara Skerath and young British tenor Gwilym Bowen in what promises to be a highlight of the London opera season. Sung in Italian with English surtitles. 6.15pm: Pre-concert Talk Conductor Ian Page will give a pre-concert talk in the auditorium. Free entry with concert ticket.
