About

After making the mistake of googling how many eggs she has left (8% of what she was born with, if you're interested), Jenny decided she wanted a baby and she wanted one soon. Unfortunately her long-term boyfriend had other ideas. Through a mixture of song, stand up and sass (though not as much as she'd like), Jenny is exploring what it is to be a childless woman in her 30s, particularly when you don't want to be one, modern gender politics, love, sex and the fear of dying alone (lols), whilst contemplating some of life's bigger questions; Why are women's bodies being governed in a way that men's aren't? Why do Batman and Superman get fully protective armour when Wonder Woman has to make do with little more than a tankini? Why do her family keep passing on articles about freezing your eggs? And how can she want a baby so much, yet still find herself taking the morning after pill on Mothers Day? Jenny Bede recently won the BAFTA Rocliffe Award for new comedy writing and was named Observer's Rising Star. An award winning musical comedian, writer and actror, Jenny first gained a following on YouTube by writing, directing and performing in a series of topical parody music videos. In 2013, Jenny started performing live solo material, entering the Musical Comedy Awards and winning Best Newcomer after just 3 live gigs. In 2014, she wrote and starred in her own musical sketch pilot, Jenny Bede: AAA for BBC Comedy. She has also acted in numerous other shows including: 'Lovesick' (Netflix), 'Bliss' (Sky), 'Sicknote' (Sky), 'Stan Lee's Lucky Man' (Sky) 'Episodes' (BBC2), 'Josh' (BBC3), 'Crackanory'(Dave) 'Murder in Successville' (BBC3), 'Watson & Oliver' (BBC2), 'Misfits' (e4) and 'Broadchurch' (ITV). Jenny also works extensively in radio, regularly performing in Newsjack and other comedies for Radio 2 and Radio 4. End Time: 3:00 pm. Artist / Speaker: Jenny Bede.
