Napa High School Alumni Choir Travis Rogers conductor London's Kensington Singers & Victoria Park Singers Hannah Brine Conductor Joint concert with Alumni singers from Napa High School (USA) and London's Kensington Singers & Victoria Park Singers. The Napa High School Alumni Choir is composed of singers who have performed in the School's choirs across the generations, from the 1960's through the semester just concluded this June. The Napa High School Choirs have maintained a long tradition of excellence having won international, national, state and local awards. Groups from the school have secured twelve High School Golden State Championships, the most of any high school choir department in California. Napa High School Choirs have performed in world famous venues including Westminster Abbey, Notre Dame, the Sydney Opera House, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Montserrat Abbey among others. The Conductor, Travis Rogers, retired from the school in June, 2017 after a thirty-seven year career as the director. He currently serves as the Western Region President of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) The Choir's tour repertoire consists of primarily sacred works both a cappella and with organ accompaniment, many of the pieces by English composers. The concert will be shared with the Kenginston Singers & Victoria Park Singers, both community choirs from West and East London, started and conducted by Hannah Brine. From classical to pop, folk, gospel to musical theatre and world - they sing everything! They are not afraid to tackle different languages, from French to Zulu, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin. Alongside their own repertoire, they will perform together with the NAPA High School Alumni Choir 'Baba Yetu' by Chris Kiagiri & Christopher Tin. The programme will include a selection of pieces from: Let the People Praise Thee, O God, William Mathias Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal, arr. Alice Parker Beati Quorum Via, Charles Villers Stanford I'm Gonna Sing 'til the Spirit Moves In My Heart, Moses Hogan Hlohonolofatsa, arr. Daniel Jackson Rest, Ralph Vaughan Williams Pilgrims' Hymn, Stephen Paulus Sing Unto God, G.F. Handel In Meeting We Are Blessed, Troy Robertson & R. Gatnahos Turn The World Around, arr. Mark Hayes Baba Yetu, Chris Kiagiri & Christopher Tin The Ground, Ola Gjeilo
