Chelsea Opera Group present a concert performance of Massenet's Thais (1894), at the Cadogan Hall, Saturday 23rd June 2018, conducted by Stephen Higgins and featuring the Chelsea Opera Group Chorus and Orchestra. One of Massenet's most popular operas, Thais was first performed in 1894, two years after Werther. Conductor Stephen Higgins makes his debut with Chelsea Opera Group, and has worked extensively in major opera houses and festivals both in the UK and abroad. Stephen has conducted 'Magic Flute' for ENO, 'L'Elisir d'amore' for Opera Holland Park, Don Giovanni for the Porto festival, and 'La Boheme', 'Hansel and Gretel', Magic Flute' for young singers' company, Co-opera-co. Soprano Sally Silver returns to sing the title role after her triumphant role debut as Leonora in Il Trovatore with Chelsea Opera Group in 2017. Sally brings a wealth of operatic experience to the company, with recent engagements at English National Opera and Scottish Opera, and operatic concert performances with across the UK and Europe.
