About

Join us for an immersive storytelling performance led by the Great Belzoni, Italian strongman turned Egyptologist, around Sir John Soane's Museum. Hear tales of the extraordinary adventures from his days as a circus performer, to his grand plans to become an inventor, to his discovery of some of Ancient Egypt's greatest treasures. Belzoni will lead you on an imaginary journey into his own life and on a special tour of the museum's secrets. There will be a chance to handle artefacts and to see the real Sarcophagus of Seti the first, unearthed by Belzoni and later purchased by Sir John Soane to install in the basement of his house. This interactive performance will bring our current exhibition, Egypt Uncovered, alive for the whole family. The performance will last forty-five minutes and is recommended for children aged from six up.
