For dance fans, Tap Dogs needs little introduction. This was the show, launched from Newcastle, Australia, with six tap dancers, Olivier Award-winning choreographer Dein Perry, designer/director Nigel Triffitt and composer Andrew Wilkie, that took the world by storm. It's won 11 major international awards and been seen by over 11 million people. In the process, it's also helped to rid tap-dancing of its smart suits and jazz hands image. Now, they're back to win us all over again with an unprecedented tap show that combines the strength and power of workmen with the precision and talent of tap dancing. They're certainly well qualified to do it - although Perry trained as a dancer from a young age, he didn't originally think he would be able to pursue his passion professionally and trained as an industrial machinist before eventually making it to Broadway, and the rest of the cast have all held down 'real jobs' too.
