Sketch For Survival 2018 at The Gallery @ Oxo Free

From to

Sketch for Survival is an unprecedented collection of wildlife art, part of the wider Explorers against Extinction campaign to raise awareness about the threats facing many of the world's most iconic species including elephant, rhino, lion and tiger. The collection comprises over 150 pieces of artwork kindly donated by leading international artists and illustrators, as well as celebrity supporters including Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Dame Judi Dench, Stephen Fry and Richard E Grant. One elephant in Africa is currently poached for its tusks every 26 minutes and contributing artists have been asked to spend the same amount of time on their wildlife sketch. All artwork features an endangered species and is available to purchase via online auction with profits being donated to Explorers against Extinction conservation charity partners working to protect wildlife. The exhibition is touring the UK throughout the autumn before moving to New York in the US. Also on display during the exhibition will be a huge elephant wall mosaic made up entirely of photographs of dogs with their owners, including celebrity supporters and rangers. The mosaic, created specially for Selfie for Survival celebrates the extraordinary powers of dogs while raising awareness about the vital role of anti-poaching dogs working on the frontline of conservation.
