Sydney born Sarah Blasko is a rare talent. On the one hand, she is a fiercely-independent free spirit whose haunting sound critics have run out of superlatives to describe. Blasko's solo career launched in 2004 with her debut album The Overture & The Underscore becoming a platinum seller. She began her career by fronting Australian band Acquiesce before leaving to pursue her solo career in 2002. After teething problems in the early stages of production, Blasko decided to produce her first EP independently with financial backing from manager Craig New. Her music was mainly played by local radio stations in the early days before she was picked up by Brisbane-based recording company Dew Process. Blasko is now touring with her third studio album As Day Follows Night, which was voted the 2010 Album Of The Year by Triple J, Australia's biggest national radio network and nominated for five ARIA's.
