Florence Nightingale revolutionised nursing by turning it into the respectable profession we know today, the Nightingale Training School opened its doors as the first professional training school for nurses in 1860 and for almost 150 years produced generations of 'Nightingale Nurses'. This display looks at the history of the Training School, how the students were taught the 'art' of nursing, and explores the impact being a 'Nightingale' had on the nurses who trained there.
