A special one-off quiz celebrating ladies. This weeks host Stav Bee will have a great bunch of questions for all to answer about successful women. All are invited men and women alike should know the answers. To celebrate 100 years since the representation of peoples act that marked the first step in giving women the vote, we will be running a series of events at our pubs this February with all female performers. From veterans to those just starting out. They will all have a link to the pub and most we have on a regular basis. Come join us and vote with your feet. As much as women's rights have changed in the last 100 years, we can't brush over the fact that total gender equality in the UK has still not been achieved. Right now many women across the UK are experiencing gender-based violence as a direct cause and consequence of gender inequality. In our own communities domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse, forced marriage, so-called 'honour'-based violence, human trafficking and modern slavery, prostitution, and female genital mutilation are taking place every day. With this in mind, we will be collecting for local charity Nia (https://www.justgiving.com/niaproject) who provide support and services for women, children and young people who have experienced violence. Help us, help them in challenging inequality, discrimination and celebrating diversity.
